Forthcoming Exhibitions of Philadelphia Museum of Art Launched

The forthcoming exhibitions of the Philadelphia Museum of Art have been announced.

The “Journeys to New Worlds: Spanish and Portuguese Colonial Art in the Roberta and Richard Huber Collection” is scheduled from February 16 to May 19, 2013 (with press preview on February 15, 2013) at the Exhibition Gallery of the Ruth and Raymond G. Perelman Building.

Meanwhile, “Treasures of the Alfred Stieglitz Center: Photographs from the Permanent Collection” will be held at the Honickman and Berman Galleries from December 22, 2012 to April 7, 2013.

Also, the “Great and Mighty Things: Outsider Art from the Jill and Sheldon Bonovitz Collection” is slated from March 3 to June 9, 2013 (with press preview on March 1, 2013) at the Dorrance Galleries.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art is among the largest museums in the US, with a collection of more than 227,000 works of art and more than 200 galleries presenting painting, sculpture, works on paper, photography, decorative arts, textiles, and architectural settings from Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the US. Its facilities include its landmark Main Building on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Perelman Building, located nearby on Pennsylvania Avenue, the Rodin Museum on the 2200 block of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and two 18th-century houses in Fairmount Park, Mount Pleasant and Cedar Grove. The museum offers a variety of activities for public audiences, including special exhibitions, programs for children and families, lectures, concerts and films.
