Just in time for the great migration, Asilia has opened a new camp for luxury safari enthusiasts. Kimondo opens today, July 1, and we hear is in prime location for game viewing.
From July to October home for Kimondo is near the Mara River on the Lamai Wedge. As the herds move to the southern Serengeti, so does Kimondo, putting guests in the heart of the migration.
The eight tents feature king bends, large verandahs for afternoon naps and en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running water. Meals are taken outside, under the stars or in the dining tent. Nice touch: Kimondo is entirely solar powered.
Asilia Africa now operates 16 luxury camps and lodges in the southern area of Tarangire National Park, Mara River region of Serengeti National Park, the newly formed Mara Naboisho Conservancy and Africa's largest island National Park - RUbondo Island.
