Victoria's Oak Bay Beach Hotel to Reopen

July 20, 2011 By: Meagan Drillinger

The iconic Oak Bay Beach Hotel, torn down in 2007, is ready for a comeback. We hear that the 1920s Victorian-style hotel will rise once again in May 2012, just in time for Victoria, BC's busy tourist season.

The $52 million hotel will offer 100 rooms, the well-loved Snug Pub and dinner theater program. Hotel guests will have use of the seaside, therapeutic mineral pools, fitness center and spa; services from an on-staff sommelier and fine dining at The Discovery Restaurant; and 24-hour room service, butler and concierge. Kate's Cafe will prove casual dining.

Adventurists rejoice! The hotel offers a range of opportunities including kayak rentals and tours, whale-watching expeditions, out-island hikes, fishing and sailing charters and more.
