Hotel Buzz: Hyatt to Take Over Four Seasons AviaraApril 22, 2010 By: Meagan Drillinger
As of June 21 Four Seasons will no longer wave its flag at its Aviara resort in Carlsbad, California. The question as to who would be the new manager was up in the air for quite some time but it has finally been settled. Come the end of June Hyatt Hotels Corp. will be taking over the 329-room hotel, changing it to Park Hyatt Aviara Resort.
All of this is following a clash between the hotel owners and Four Seasons, when they tried to evict the luxury chain last May, under the accusation that the Four Seasons was mismanaging the resort.
Four Seasons' claim was that the owners were not properly providing enough money to pay the debt services, according to an article in Lodging Hospitality from last May.
Stay tuned for more updates on the hotel's rebranding.
