Spa Trends for 2010: Tapas Style Tasting Menus
December 3, 2009 By: Mary Winston Nicklin
Don't have time (or don't want to splurge) on a full-day spacation? Now you can indulge with a cheaper, mini service at many spas across the country. Loews Hotels in Santa Monica (pictured) and San Diego, for example, have unveiled a Spa Tasting Menu that allows clients to create the perfect recipe by pairing several "sides" with their "main course" spa treatment, say a scalp massage along with their facial. The New York Times points out that Scottsdale's Spa at Camelback Inn is offering shorter, appetizer version spa options, while Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas has jumped on the band wagon by offering a series of 25-minute treatments. Identified as a key spa trend for 2010 by the International Spa Association, the Sampling Menu is just like ordering tapas at a restaurant: Lots of different flavors for a lot less dough.
