Want to Go to Wine Camp in Sonoma?

February 17, 2010 By: Meagan Drillinger

Sure we all love that nice glass of wine after work, but do we really have any idea where it comes from? Sonoma County, California's Wine Country, is hosting a Grape Camp September 27 through 29 for those who want a hands-on experience harvesting grapes and blending wine.

The group will be made up of around 30 participants, who will spend three days with grape growers, winemakers and chefs learning about winemaking. Guests will stay at the Vinters Inn in Santa Rosa.

Some program highlights include dinner at Quivira Winery in Dry Creek Valley; a tour and tasting at Dutcher Crossing Winery and lunch at Michel-Schlumberger Estate.

Participants will be able to blend their own wine at DeLoach Winery and the whole camp experience is concluded with a graduation ceremony and tating reception.

Tuition for Grape Camp is $3,500 per couple and $1,900 for singles. It includes two nights of accommodations at the Vinters Inn, all meals, tastings and transportation during camp. An optional dinner at Vinters Inn is available on the third night for an additional $125 per person.
