The Luxury Collection's New China Hotels

The Luxury Collection Hotels & Resorts has opened The Azure Qiantang, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hangzhou, in the capital of China’s Zhejiang province.

The Azure Qiantang sits on the Qiantang River, blending Hangzhou’s tradition with contemporary design elements (thanks to Pierre-Yves Rochon). We hear the hotel uses a blue glass colord structure that is meant to mirror the Qiantang River.

Inside guests will find 205 guest rooms and suites, all with views of the river. The hotel also has a pool and a 24-hour fitness center. The spa will have seven treatment rooms and three massage rooms. The menu is inspired by five of Hangzhou’s water elements (river, canal, stream, lake and sea). Signature treatments include the “Enchanting Lotus Facial Therapy,” which blends lotus extracts with ingredients that are rich in anti-oxidants.

Time to dine? The “five waters” theme carries to the culinary side of the hotel. The Lan Ting Chinese Restaurant features 14 private dining suites in addition to its main dining hall. Guests can dine on the Four Treasures Water-shield Soup, made with herbs native to the West Lake, and Steamed Crabs with Chicken Oil and Rice Wine, with fresh crabs.

Other dining options include Panorama Restaurant & Bar; Riverview Terrace and The Lobby Mar.
