Great news for fans of high-end cocktails and rooftop lounges alike: The Roosevelt Hotel in New York City will reopen its mad46 Rooftop Lounge on April 11. Celebrating its fifth season on the corner of Madison and 46th, 19th-floor hideaway is open to warmer breezes Wednesday through Friday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will be open six days a week as of May 7 from 5 p.m. to midnight.
Accessible from the 46th Street entrance, where an exclusive elevator takes guests straight to the bar, mad46 will have an official re-opening celebration on April 26 as well as special events through the season ranging from happy hour deals, Kentucky Derby celebrations and MAD MONDAYS (every Monday offers 50 percent savings on select drinks and a 10 percent discount for those living or working on Madison Ave.), to the popular Summer Movie Nights and Saturday Sunset Soirees (half-price select mix drinks, beers and wines on Saturdays).
The bar has two air-conditioned indoor areas with top views and cocktails that include the Mad Mojito, complete with a white-chocolate stick and shaved coconut. Some of the new-age "bar bites" include mini Kobe burgers topped with melted cheese and fresh guacamole, as well as traditional favorites like wings and fresh pizza.
