Silver Shadow will caddy a host of golf cruises in 2009

Silversea Ramps Up 2009 Golf Program

Silversea Cruises
(www.silversea.com) is spinning golf dreams in 2009. The luxury
line’s Silver Links program will be as robust as it’s
ever been, offering 13 golf-themed cruises next year aboard Silver
Shadow
and Silver Whisper. The Silver Links voyages
offer optional golfing excursions in multiple ports arranged and
escorted by the ship’s golf professional. Top tee times: Expect
play at some of the world’s most challenging and picturesque
courses in destinations throughout the South Pacific, Mediterranean,
Caribbean and Mexico. Sample itineraries include Silver Shadow’s
January 4 nine-day Caribbean voyage from Fort Lauderdale to Barbados
calling in Tortola, Antigua, St. Lucia, Grenada and Bequia. Golf
excursions visit Cedar Valley Golf Club (St. John’s); St. Lucia
Golf and Country Club (Castries); and Sandy Lane Country Club
(Bridgetown, Barbados). Later in the year, Silver Whisper’s
May 19 nine-day Mediterranean cruise from Athens to Barcelona offers
play at Il Picciolo Golf Club (Catania, Italy); Le Querce Golf Club
(Rome); and the Monte Carlo Golf Club.

SeaDream Concentrates on New, Unique Ports

The cratering economy
doesn’t seem to be a downer for SeaDream Yacht Club
(www.seadream.com), which has its eyes set on a robust 2009. Its two
50-couple yachts will, again, focus on the Caribbean during winter
months and Europe in the summer. New Moves: In the Caribbean,
SeaDream is adding new ports for 2009 including Dewey,
Culebra (Puerto Rico’s Virgin Islands); Honeymoon Beach and
Water Island (U.S. Virgin Islands); and Cooper Island (British Virgin
Islands).
A host of new European ports are also being added
such as Formentera, Spain;
Lipari, Italy; Le Lavandou, France; and Vis, Croatia.
The
European schedule also includes more calls at what many are calling
the “new” Mykonos—Naousa village on the Greek
island of Paros.

Seabourn and Venice Simplon-Orient Express
Partnership

Seabourn
(
www.seabourn.com)
is extending to its guests a new way to embellish their luxury
experience through a partnership with Venice Simplon-Orient Express,
the luxury train service. Beginning in summer 2009, the elegant,
all-inclusive train travel experience will offer transfer from London
to Venice and vice-versa for the Dalmatian Gems itinerary aboard
Seabourn Spirit.

The London-to-Venice
leg offers peerless scenery running from the Swiss and Austrian Alps
to the Italian Dolomites. Guests will have the attention of a
personal steward and reserved seatings during mealtimes. The
post-cruise rail itinerary is the same, though in reverse, with no
shortage of luxury, which includes overnight accommodations at the
Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park in the London.

Seabourn’s
“Dalmatian Gems” seven-night itinerary includes calls in
Opatija, Split and Triluke Bay, Croatia; Kotor, Montenegro; Koper,
Slovenia; and Trieste, Italy.
