Seabourn has announced its lineup of Alaska and British Columbia itineraries, so travelers could see the destinations' wildlife and landscape. The cruise line created a line-up of 11-,12- and 14-day Alaska and British Columbia cruises aboard Seabourn Sojourn. Fewer than 5,000 guests will be able to book these trips with 10 departures for the season, which runs from June to October 2019.
Highlights of the Seaborn 2019 itineraries are:
Ultimate Alaska Sojourn – An 11-day voyage northbound from Vancouver, British Columbia to Anchorage (Seward), Alaska. Three departures from June to August will feature Ketchikan, Sitka, Haines/Skagway and Juneau, as well as cruising to Tracy/Endicott Arm and Misty Fjords. Departures are June 7, July 14 and August 20.
Ultimate Glacier & Fjord Adventure – A 14-day cruise sailing southbound from Anchorage (Seward), Alaska to Vancouver, British Columbia. Three departures from June to September will begin with cruising the Kenai Fjords and Aialik Glacier before traveling to Alaska’s marquee ports and adding Prince Rupert and the First Nations villages of Klemtu and Alert Bay in British Columbia’s breathtaking Inside Passage. Departures are June 18, July 25 and August 31.
Ultimate Alaska & Inside Passage – A 12-day round-trip Vancouver voyage sailing four times between July and September. These voyages include Sitka, Ketchikan, Wrangell and Juneau in Alaska and traverse the Canadian Inside Passage to Prince Rupert, Klemtu and Alert Bay en-route back to Vancouver. Departures are July 2, August 8, September 14 and September 26.
All departures have optional Ventures by Seabourn shore excursions with guided Zodiac cruising and kayak journeys leaving directly from the ship, along with hiking and wildlife viewing. Not only could travelers see Alaskan staples like glaciers and fjords, but also “hidden gems” inaccessible to larger ships. Naturalists, science, wildlife and historical experts from Seabourn Sojourn’s expedition team will be leading the journeys. They will also provide presentations on the ship.
Some itineraries include seldom-visited locations such as Alert Bay and Klemtu, a town with fewer than 500 people owned by the Kitasoo Native Band. Travelers can see the Inland Passage and Kenal Fjords. And they can also see cities and towns, such as Juneau, Ketchikan and Sitka.
Every cruise offers free Seabourn all-weather jackets, Seabourn Conversations with guest speakers, wildlife sightings and a “Caviar on the Ice” deck party. Seabourn also provides clients the chance to see more of Alaska with the Denali Experience: A custom-designed, fully escorted overland adventure with a wildlife sighting in the Denali National Park and a flight on a flight-seeing plane available before or after select Seabourn Alaska voyages. This program is five days long.
Once the season comes to a close, guests can do the Pacific Gold Coast program: An eight-day voyage southbound from Vancouver to Los Angeles stopping in Seattle, WA; Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; San Francisco, Monterey and Santa Barbara, CA, Departure October 8.
