Travel to the South Pole With New Itineraries From Seabourn

Seabourn is launching a new pre-cruise experience that will take guests to the South Pole on some Antarctica and Patagonia itineraries during the 2016/2017 season.

Those traveling on Seabourn Quest to Antarctica can extend their journey with two different experiences, Polar Quest & Patagonia and Polar Quest, Tierra del Fuego & Iguazu Falls.  Both of these pre-cruise itinerates will include stays at Union Glacier Camp, one of the few private seasonal camps in Antarctica.

Antarctic Logistics and Expeditions operates the camp, which is full-service and offers double-occupancy sleeping tents, gourmet cuisine and activities like technical climbs and ski tours.

The full itineraries include the following:

Polar Quest & Patagonia (14 nights/15 days) – Guests will take a transantarctic flight and will land in the South Pole. Other highlights include time to explore Torres del Paine National Park in southernmost Chile. Daily activities include venturing to blue ice pools, raw glacial moraines and time for looking for wildlife. The pre-cruise departure is December 4, 2016 followed by a sailing on Seabourn Quest  on the 19th.

Polar Quest, Tierra del Fuego & Iguazu Falls (16 nights/17 days) – This journey also includes the transantarctic flight to the South Pole. However, on this trip guests will explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Iguazu Falls National Park, which boarders Argentina and Brazil. Travelers will board boats and helicopters to see the system of falls up close.  The pre-cruise departure is December 26, 2016 followed by a sailing on Seabourn Quest on January 12, 2017.
