Brooklyn’s Hotel Williamsburg Set to Open in June

Get ready, Brooklyn. A new hotel is promising to make some waves in Williamsburg. Smack dab in the thick of things off Bedford Avenue, the soon-to-open Hotel Williamsburg will give the neighborhood’s hipsters something to talk about. For one thing, there’s an outdoor rooftop bar with sweeping views over Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. A pool club with cabanas. And a killer cocktail list by Alchemy Consulting. The in-room amenities sound downright jazzy (Mailin + Goetz toiletries, a Crosley record player with complimentary records kept in the lobby). But we’re really swooning over the in-room coffee service delivered in Stanley Thermoses. Promising to blend “Old-School Brooklyn grit with new-school luxury,” the hotel is going local with staff uniforms by Brooklyn Industries and a signature brew by Brooklyn Brewery.

Billed as the first full-service, luxury, boutique hotel in Brooklyn, the 64-room Hotel Williamsburg also features a restaurant by acclaimed local chef, Andres Grundy, formerly Chef de Cuisine of New York’s L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. And when the lure of Manhattan gets to be too much, just hop on the L. (Manhattan’s East Village is just one subway stop away.) Rates start at $295; an opening rate of $199 will be offered through June 30, 2011.
