Five-Star Hotels in Qatar: Announcing the New Solís Doha

The world’s gaze shifted to Qatar when FIFA announced that the tiny Arabic nation would host the 2022 World Cup. It’s also the chosen destination for the first Middle Eastern property for upscale brand, Solís Hotels & Resorts, led by hotelier Horst Schulze, one of the founders of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company. Owned by Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, the 418-room Solís Doha will open in 2015 adjacent to the Qatar National Convention Center. Architecturally, the goal is to build a property that exceeds environmental and sustainability standards. Facilities will include an exceptional meeting space, spa, three restaurants, and a spacious indoor recreational area. Solís Hotels & Resorts was founded on the principle that “luxury” means impeccable service. The official website sums it up best: “We define quality service as having a sincere interest in guests delivered in a comfortable and spirited manner, avoiding stiffness or formality.”
