The Group Barrière—which runs a total of 41 Casinos Barrière and 16 Hôtels Barrière—is in the midst of a massive $231 renovation project of its luxury hotels in France. (As part of this company-wide project, Le Normandy Deauville is now closed for a renovation.) This large investment isn’t just on property upkeep; the Group Barrière is currently building a new “palace hotel” in Courchevel.

The luxury hotel company acquired the Hotel des Neiges and is currently undertaking a top-to-bottom overhaul and extension of the property, so that when it opens in December 2016, it will compete with the fine hotels already on offer in this prestigious ski resort in the French Alps. Courchevel is a favorite winter playground for international jetsetters, and the luxury offerings are remarkable: L'Apogée Courchevel from the Oetker Collection, K2, Cheval Blanc from LVMH Hotel Management, Les Airelles, and more.

Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges will have 44 guest rooms with an average per night cost of 2000 euros. Construction began in July 2014 on the project. Stay tuned for more details!
