Hot on the heels of The Waikiki Edition, which opened this past October, The Istanbul Edition debuted this month and is already creating a buzz for its razor-sharp design, architecture and customized approach to personal service.

The latest collaboration between Marriott International and the new brand’s creative advisor, Ian Schrager, The Istanbul Edition is a 13-story tower within the city’s bustling Levent neighborhood. It houses 77 generously proportioned guest lofts, and a Penthouse Suite taking up an entire floor of the hotel.

Luxury Travel Advisor’s Istanbul source says the Lofts with Terraces are the standout suites. These have an East-meets-West fusion with bronze and silver-gold tones, rosewood finishes, king or queen beds with imported linens, glass-encased bathrooms, Bang & Olufsen flat-screen TVs and landscaped teak-floor terraces with expansive city views.

We also love the 9,000-square-foot, full-floor Penthouse Suite, which has a large living and dining area (perfect for entertaining guests as the hotel can provide private meals through its Cipriani restaurant catering service) and private elevator access (perfect for discreet clientele). Privacy Note: The suite can connect to an adjacent double guest room, the only other accommodation on the 14th floor, thereby securing the entire floor. We also hear the suite is being booked for private events. The Cipriani restaurant, Lobby Bar, Drawing Room and Billionaire Club make up the hotel’s social hub, but the star attraction is the three-level, 20,000-square-foot ESPA spa, which turns the traditional Turkish hammam into an ultra-contemporary beauty, health and wellness retreat. There’s a pool, fitness center and VIP treatment suite for guests who want that little bit of extra privacy.

On the radar: New Editions are slated soon for Barcelona, Mexico City, Bangkok, Miami and London.
