Coming to Cairo: New Kempinski Nile Hotel Opens in June

Kempinski Nile Hotel Cairo

There’s a new luxury hotel on the block: Cairo’s getting a Kempinski. Billed as the “first luxury boutique hotel in Cairo,” the Kempinski Nile Hotel Garden City will have splashy luxury digs designed by Pierre-Yves Rochon. The design guru who redecorated the glamorous Grand Hotel du Cap-Ferrat and Four Seasons Hotel George V is also the man in charge of the redesign of The Savoy in London- currently in the midst of a dramatic overhaul. Graced with over 700 paintings and sculptures, the new Kempinski Nile Hotel will open its doors on June 20, 2010 on the banks of the Nile. In fact, the hotel has played up this strategic location in all aspects of its design; the pool and health club boast sweeping views over the city.

Not only will guests be privy to the attentive care of personal butlers, but they’ll also get the VIP treatment from a concierge staff who’ll “fulfill every guest wish and whim,” to quote the hotel, “be it sold-out tickets to the Cairo Opera House, a private tour of the Pyramids of Giza, or an exclusive candle-lit Felucca trip on the Nile.” Guests can also expect some stellar dining outlets: gastronomic delights at upscale Floor 10 (on the 10th floor), Ottoman cuisine at Osmanly, chocolate at (where else?) the Chocolate Lounge.
