First Look: Mondrian London Due to Debut in Spring

Spring 2014 will bring something special to London: We hear that Morgans Hotel Group will launch the Mondrian London, the fifth Mondrian-branded hotel in the group.

What makes it special? The hotel is right on the Thames in Sea Containers House between the OXO Tower and Blackfriars Bridge. It will be designed by Design Research Studio under creative direction of Tom Dixon. It will also be the first hotel for Design Research Studio, and is a new London venture for Morgans Hotel Group--the first collaboration between the British interior design practice and the American hotel group.

We hear the Mondrian London’s lobby will recreate the see-and-be-seen vibe of the original and will be a hotspot in town for a cocktail, mingling and people-watching. There's also a riverside bar and brasserie with outside seating, a rooftop lounge and terrace, Mondrian London’s signature agua Spa with six treatment suites, relaxation space and a manicure and pedicure room, and a screening room with state-of-the-art audio visual equipment. Even cooler: Many of the rooms and suites will have outdoor space and river views.

Groups and high-end business events will also be in luck: The Mondrian London at Sea Containers has more than 20,000 square feet of food and beverage and spa outlets, and six meeting spaces with over 5,500 square feet of meeting space. (All of the facilities can be set up for audio, video and telecommunications capabilities.
