Céleste Receives its First Michelin Star

A year after the hotel’s renovation, Céleste at The Lanesborough in London, England has received its first Michelin star.

Céleste is led by Chef Patron Eric Frechon who has been at Le Bristol, another property by the Oetker collection, since 1999.  The cuisine at Céleste is French inspired with a modern and imaginative approach. Executive Chef Florian Favario oversees the Céleste team; he is the former Head Chef at Frechon’s restaurant Epicure located at The Bristol. This is Frechon’s fifth Michelin star and Favario’s first.

To celebrate Céleste's Michelin star The Lanesborough has released an exclusive set menu with champagne for a limited time.

If you don't have time for the full meal at Céleste, London correspondent Emily Goldfischer recommends the restaurant's afternoon tea; a tea sommelier is on hand to choose the perfect tea for your palate, which is complemented by the restaurants array of sandwiches, pastries and scones. Booking in advance is necessary to experience what Goldfischer believes is the best afternoon tea in London.

As reported by Ruthanne Terrero VP of content and editorial director at Questex Travel Group , The Lanesborough was acquired by the Oetker Collection in 2014 and went through an 18-month renovation to maintain its regent style while adding volumes of details.

The Lanesborough is known for its high profile guests, 24-hour butler service and prime location at Hyde Park Corner with Buckingham Palace and Knightsbridge close by. At the Luxury Travel Advisor Awards of Excellence this past May, held at the Montage Laguna Beach as part of the Ultra Summit, The Lanesborough received the award for Top Luxury Hotel Renovation/Restoration.
