If you’re checking into a Relais & Chateaux hotel in France soon, you’ll be privy to a new service from BMW. The German luxury automaker has partnered with the hotel collection to provide electric car charging stations at urban properties, and some city hotels will even be outfitted with a fleet of vehicles. In 2013, BMW launched the BMW i3, a car that's 100% electric, and this spring, BMW will unveil the new i8, the first premium sports car with a rechargeable hybrid motorization system.
According to the official press release, the goal of the partnership is to highlight the shared values of the two prestigious brands: “excellence, client satisfaction, innovation and respect for the environment.” Jean-François Ferret, the Director of Relais & Châteaux, said, “The happiness of our guests. From now on, cultivated together by BMW France and Relais & Châteaux. United by what makes us unique.”
Created in France in 1954, Relais & Chateaux now counts 520 hotels and gastronomic restaurants around the world. French city properties include the Saint James Paris, pictured here.
