First Look: The Oetker Collection's Upcoming L’Apogee Courchevel

Ski fans headed to France next month will have a new reason to visit the Courchevel region of the French Alps: The Oetker Collection is set to open its newest hotel, L’Apogee Courchevel, on December 11. The opening is especially remarkable as it is Oetker's first ski resort, and L'Apogée will be a sister property to the Hotel du Cap Eden-Roc, drawing a similar crowd for the ski season.

Courchevel is located in the French Alps as part of Les Trois Vallées (The Three Valleys), the largest linked ski area in the world. We hear the area's lift system rarely has lines even during peak ski times.

The area has 11 hotels rated at five stars, but we think L’Apogée Courchevel will be extra-special: The hotel is in the heart of the exclusive Jardin Alpin in Courchevel 1850, the highest (and, we hear, most exclusive) point of not only Courchevel, but The Three Valleys. The hotel, located at the foot of the ski slopes, offers private access to the slopes and will function as a ski-in ski-out resort.

Tip: VIPs will want to book the hotel's penthouse, which has a private Jacuzzi and terrace. Families, meanwhile, will want to book the chalet next door to the hotel, which has five bedrooms, a spa and its own movie theater.

Foodies, meanwhile, will want to spend some time in the signature restaurant overseen by Chef Franck Ferigutti (we hear it has an on-site caviar bar).
