Last year we reported that the Group Barrière had acquired the Hotel des Neiges, then launched a complete overhaul of the property in Courchevel. The latest news is that the Hotel Barrière is on track for a December 2016 debut in the glamorous ski destination that’s world-famous for its luxe accommodations, swanky restaurants, and glorious skiing in the French Alps. This is the first mountain resort for the group which comprises 16 luxury hotels in France (and one in Morocco), and more than 140 restaurants and bars, including the famous Fouquet’s brasserie in Paris.
Located on the Bellecôte piste in Courchevel 1850, the Hôtel Barrière Les Neiges Courchevel will have 42 rooms and suites—some with fireplaces—decorated by Nathalie Ryan with stone, wood paneling and silky fabrics. Ryan first began her collaboration with the Group in 2010 with the design of the Dior Suite at the Majestic Barrière in Cannes.
Facilities will include three restaurant concepts (including Fouquet’s), a ski equipment room with easy access to the slopes (and the nearly 400 miles of pistes in the 3 Vallées resort), a private screening room, and the biggest spa in Courchevel.
