Greece: By Land or Sea

With Travelive
With Travelive guests can enjoy a scenic and customized wine tasting experience.

Travelive, a company based in Greece, which focuses on luxury experiences, will consult with travel advisors to build an itinerary for clients focused on culinary, shopping or archaeological excursions. There’s even a “Social Movements: Walk the Protests in Athens” opportunity.

Travelive has also partnered with local yacht owners for three- to seven-night charters that can be bundled with land stays. Ideal for jetsetters, a suggested itinerary could be two nights at a luxury hotel in Central Athens and a private tour. Next, the clients would fly to Mykonos for three nights in a five-star property. They would then travel by high-speed catamaran to Santorini for three nights. At the end of it all, voila, a private yacht charter (normally for four nights) originating in Santorini or southern Athens.

The yacht charter includes a crew of two, two meals per day, and up to three hours of fuel per day. The itinerary for the charter is not set but includes a variety of private coves, marinas, smaller islands, and areas that are not as accessible by land.

With captains ranging from true seafaring folk to Greek entertainers who have become fully licensed for yachting, the experience is all local culture as well as swanky.

For those who are porting in Santorini and want to sample a Travelive experience on the ground, there is a “A Day in the Fields” program, where guests can spend a day on a local organic farm with a farmer, experiencing live-stock activities, collecting fresh eggs and vegetables, making fresh cheeses, tasting homemade wines, and even enjoying a cooking class incorporating the fresh ingredients. After that, it’s a bike ride through the countryside.

Cooking classes
Cooking classes are a part of ‘A Day in the Fields’ program, through which guests porting in Santorini get to sample a Travelive experience on the ground.

From Mykonos, clients can sail to the tiny island of Delos, by either a motor boat or a sailing yacht. The excursion can be customized with a swim stop and a lunch on board, or on the beaches of Delos, which is also full of archaeological sites.

Another unique opportunity from Travelive is the chance to run laps in the Panathinaiko Stadium in Athens, home of the first Olympics. If guests have energy left, they can spend the day training with Greek Olympic athletes and coaches. Fitness excursions can be tailored to the traveler’s level.
