A Makeover for the Nijinsky Suite at Hotel de Russie in Rome

A prized pied-a-terre in Rome has a new look. Hotel de Russie, a Rocco Forte Hotel, has unveiled the newly renovated Nijinsky Suite. Situated on the top floor and encompassing 1,850 square feet, this presidential suite has impressive views of the Eternal City (plus the hotel’s own private courtyard and the neighboring Villa Borghese gardens). In fact, the furnished terrace is a prime spot for meals with a view: why not indulge in lunch or an aperitivo on teak tables and lounges surrounded by pretty Mediterranean plants?

Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, oversaw the suite’s renovation, inspired by famed Russian dancer/choreographer Vaslav Nijinsky. Special attention was paid to commissioning local Italian designers. Stand-out pieces include the sofas by Meridiani, chairs by B&B and vases by Carlo Morretti.

Like a private apartment with a luxurious residential feel, the Nijinsky suite has a double bedroom, a bookcase-lined study, a sitting room, a dining room, and a fully equipped kitchen awaiting a private chef. Taking its cue from the ancient Roman thermal baths, the bathroom is a knock-out; think marble, mosaics and a hammam.

This renovation follows the room renovation and makeover of the Picasso and Popolo suites in spring 2016.

If only these walls could talk… The Hotel de Russie’s Nijinsky Suite is a favorite hideout for A-list guests and celebrities. These suite guests get pampered with an array of inclusive benefits: Meet & Greet VIP assistance at the airport or train station with Mercedes S Class transfer; three-hour limo service during their stay; the “Avenue of Style” program with leading Italian fashion brands; and a personalized experience of their choice (market tour, spa, shopping, etc).
