Gateway Canyons Resort Appoints New GM, Director of Sales

Colorado’s Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa has announced the appointment of Tim Johnson as general manager and Mark Shine as director of sales and marketing. Both Johnson and Shine have more than a decade of hospitality experience and have held various management positions in the hotel industry.

Before joining the team at Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa, Johnson was a general manager for Smith Fork Ranch in Crawford, Colorado for two years. Before that, he was the general manager at Sorrel River Ranch Hotel & Spa Resort in Moab, Utah, where he supervised the resort's operations. Johnson also previously directed all affairs at The Resort at Paws Up in Greenough, Montana for two years as the property’s resort manager.

Shine became a part of the hospitality industry after earning a degree in the field from Florida State University. He was previously the multi-property director of sales and marketing for Quorum Hotels’ portfolio, which includes Brown Palace Hotel and Spa and the Holiday Inn Express Denver Downtown. When employed with Quorum Hotels, he worked on developing strategies to attract both business and leisure travelers, managed a sales and catering team and directed all marketing, social media, and public relations for the hotels, food outlets and spa.

Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa is an independently-owned destination resort property managed by Noble House Hotels & Resorts.
