The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita announced the appointment of Paulina Mercader as the new spa director of recently renovated Apuane Spa. Alongside her appointment were announcements of new wellness programming, including new spa, fitness and culinary offerings. Mercader will spearhead these new additions and operations, which include:
myDNA Retreat
Exclusive to the Four Seasons Punta Mita, the myDNA retreat program utilizes DNA testing to provide personalized wellness and workout recommendations based on the guest’s genetics to improve skin, diet and overall health.
Air + Water Workouts
New workout classes will be offered by the Apuane Spa, including AquaForza and Anti-Gravity Fitness and Yoga. The former, AquaForza, is a functional cardiovascular and strength-focused workout performed on a floating board in the water of an Apuane Spa pool. Anti-Gravity Fitness and Yoga puts the class into suspended fitness hammocks as instructors guide them through a series of yoga, Pilates and ballet positions.
Superfood Spa Menu
Apuane Spa will be offering a menu of healthy, superfood-heavy bento boxes, with options including vegan, Mediterranean, Asian and local flavors. Each bento box is packed with superfoods such as quinoa, raw cocoa, cactus, fresh fruits and greens. “Spa waters” are also being elevated with the menu’s all-natural water enhancement drops by Pure Inventions.
Exclusive Equipment
High-end fitness equipment from Artis is being introduced to the Apuane Spa fitness center. Four Seasons Punta Mita will be the only resort in Mexico to carry the line.
Toe Astrologer
A certified Master Toe Reader is available to guests to perform a 30-minute toe reading based on the principle that the body physically records “the story of our lives” in the toes. The reading is followed by an 80-minute Punta Mita pedicure.
Paulina Mercader has over a decade of experience in the wellness industry throughout luxury properties in Mexico. She was previously the spa director at the Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen and SENSE, A Rosewood Spa in San Miguel de Allende. A native of Mexico City, Mercader holds a Masters in spa business administration and a spa management certification from the International Spa Association.
