Luxury Collection Debuts in New York with Chatwal

The Chatwal, New York joined Starwood’s Luxury Collection last month, marking the first Luxury Collection property in New York for many years. The newly opened hotel is right near New York’s theater district, located in the historic building that was once the Lamb’s Club.

The addition of The Chatwal New York also represents another milestone for Starwood, with New York City becoming the first and only city in the world to host all nine of its brands: Sheraton, Westin, Le Meridien, W, St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Four Points by Sheraton, Element and Aloft.  (Just one more reason to love this city, we say!)

As the newest member of The Luxury Collection family, The Chatwal New York joins a portfolio of celebrated and iconic properties, including Hotel Gritti Palace, The Astor Tianjin, The Liberty and The Royal Hawaiian.

Restored and modernized by architect and designer Thierry Despont, The Chatwal New York occupies an Art Deco building designed by legendary architect Stanford White in 1904. (He designed the late, lamented Penn Station and the Washington Square Arch, among others.)
