Decorated by Mallorcan designer Antonio Obrador, this penthouse showcases oak floors, red and gold Iksel wallpaper, local Catalonian fixtures and furniture from Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Perks include a “Maxibar”—or enormous minibar—stocked with whatever treats you want, and a “Perfume Bar” filled with five Atelier Cologne fragrances which guests can use during their day. Upon check-out, each guest is pampered with a gift to take home: a leather case embossed with their initials and filled with five three-milliliter perfumes by Atelier Cologne. The price tag for this over-the-top suite? Rates start at $15,000 per night.

Located on Paseo de Gracia in a landmark neo-classical building, the Majestic Hotel & Spa has hosted a stream of celebrities and dignitaries since it first opened in 1918 (Ernest Hemingway, Picasso, and Queen Maria Cristina of Austria, to name a few). From the early days when its 100 rooms (each with private bath) went for 10 cents a night, the Majestic has expanded with an array of facilities including the destination spa on the top floor where clients can try an array of anti-ageing, detoxifying or relaxing treatments; some feature diamonds, like the Diamond Rose Ritual which combines roses and diamond dust for exfoliation and hydration. Michelin-starred chef Nandu Jubany oversees the Majestic’s restaurant offerings, and the public areas are adorned with an impressive art collection of more than 1,000 pieces from artists like Joan Miro and Anish Kapoor.
