Morgans Hotel Group Refreshes New York GMs

 

Morgans Hotel Group in installing new general managers at three of its four New York hotels. Morgans has appointed Mike Walsh as regional vice president for the northeast and general manager at the Royalton. Walsh brings over 28 years of hospitality experience in both domestic and Caribbean markets, including management positions at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts. Most recently, Wash served as general manager of Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia.

Gary Thomas is now general manager of the 270-room Mondrian SoHo, debuting in March. Thomas started his career with Morgans Hotel Group in 2004, and has since served as hotel manager of Sanderson in London, Delano Hotel in South Beach, and, most recently, the Royalton.

Robert Cartwright recently joined the Morgans team as general manager of the Hudson Hotel. Cartwright most recently served as general manager of Renaissance Blackstone Chicago Hotel. Prior to Blackstone, Cartwright was GM of the 1,052-room resort Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina.

Morgans has recently been in the news regarding the announcement they were selling the Royalton and Morgans hotel.
