The Upper House, Hong Kong Adds New Holiday Experiences

Hong Kong luxury hotel The Upper House has announced a variety of holiday inspired events for guests to enjoy during the upcoming winter season.

On December 1, 2016, the hotel will be unveiling an “ombre’d” Christmas tree in the hotel's lobby, designed by The Upper House’s creator and architect André Fu. The pop up installation will be visible until January 2, 2017. The tree will stand 10.8 feet high and will be composed entirely from 80 layers of pine planks, each hand-stained in gradation from salmon pink to green tea. The planks are positioned to create a spiral effect, though the tree will also be displayed on a revolving platform, offering guests a full 360 degree view of the art.

Fu will also have an installation on the steps of the Lawn on Level 6. A special, invitation-only event will be held December 7, 2016, to commemorate the opening of the installation, which is to feature a range of limited edition offerings from André Fu Living, including the Louis Vuitton Hong Kong City Guide, Brazilian agate homeware, trio scented candle box sets, the AFL X Lasvit TAC/TILE Lighting series and AFL X Printer & Co Christmas collateral, all exclusively curated by Fu.

Also at the Lawn will be a new “Deck the House” experience for families to try out. For the first time, the lawn will be used for family-fun inspired events, like an interactive stocking decorating competition, face painting, a photo booth and unlimited festive food and drinks for both adults and children. The Lawn on Level 6 events will be available on December 18, 24 and 25 from 2-5 p.m.

If you find yourself in Hong Kong on Christmas Eve, head to The Upper House for Christmas Eve dinner. The exclusive menu will offer items including Beetroot-Dill cured salmon with dill crème fraiche, sole and langoustine roulade “Veronique” as appetizers, goose a la royale with braised red cabbage and Madeira glazed veal cheeks with roasted and creamed sunchokes for entrees. Children’s menus and special dietary menus will also be available upon request.
