The SUU Hotels Goes Big With Small Hotels

Cenk Kinay, founder and CEO of The SUU Hotels,  gave us the scoop on the new brand of small lifestyle hotels that debuted in July.

The first of the brand’s hotels, the 48-villa SUU Türkbükü, opened on the northern shore of the Bodrum peninsula in Turkey. Here, the top choice are the Aegean Suites, which measure about 2,152 square feet and have their own private pools.

The hotel’s location, once a small fishing town, is now bustling with chic restaurants and trendy bars. We think that the hotel will live up to its surroundings, offering complimentary yoga classes, personalized poolside butlers, a spa and organic restaurant. Note: The SUU Türkbükü is closed November through March; it reopens April 1.

The SUU Hotels opened its second property, The SUU Manuel Antonio, in Costa Rica, last month. The hotel, set in a tropical rainforest on the Pacific coast, has 28 rooms, including the pièce de résistance, the three-bedroom Lifestyle Suite with its own private pool. Best of all, the white sands of Biesansz Beach are in walking distance, accessible via a walking trail from the hotel.

Kinay tells us that the company has plans to open more hotels in other exotic locations (think Asia, Marrakech, Mykonos, Riviera Maya, Ibiza, Majorca, St. Barts and Tunisia). In 2011, SUU will open a second property each in Turkey and Costa Rica.
