Tempo Miami

We’ve got the scoop on the new Tempo Miami, A RockResort, which is already heating up the Miami Beach scene.

The hotel has 305 residences, measuring 1,500 to 7,000 square feet, and 56 guest rooms, ranging from 450 to 1,000 square feet. Top Pick: Ask about the Biscayne Suite (pictured above), which comes with a living area, private terrace and balcony. Note: Even standard rooms offer million-dollar views of Miami and Biscayne Bay. They feature luxe amenities such as walk-in closets, five-fixture bathrooms, deep soaking tubs and 42-inch flat-screen TVs.

Gourmands will delight in the onsite restaurant, Amuse, which we believe lives up to its name. Each seat, from the main level to the mezzanine and outdoor terrace, offers sweeping views of Biscayne Bay and Museum Park. We think the open kitchen and live entertainment add a nice touch.

Of course, what is a Miami hotel without a spa? Skin rejuvenation after a day at the beach is a must, we say. Visit the 8,000-square-foot RockResorts Spa and select from massages and facials to be enjoyed in one of seven treatment rooms or two couples’ suites. Other spa features include a sauna, steam room and plunge pools. A full-service nail salon and a fitness center are also available.

Location, location, location! Tempo is in the Park West neighborhood, nice for beach bums and art connoisseurs. It’s also within walking distance to the new Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts —think opera, ballet and symphonies, that sort of thing. If you prefer to dial it up a little, head over to American Airlines Arena, which is also a stone’s throw away. The arena is home to the Miami Heat (and new addition LeBron James) and hosts concerts and other vibrant events.

The hotel is also just a 10-minute drive to South Beach and its sizzling beach scene and sexy nightlife. Note: Be sure to check out the culinary scenes in South Beach, Little Havana and Downtown. If you are into golf, Biltmore Golf Course and Miami Beach Golf Club are nearby.
