Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa Offers Fall Wine Tasting Tour

This fall, Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa in Colorado will be offering travelers a wine tasting experience as part of this year’s Colorado Mountain Winefest.

The 26th Annual Colorado Mountain Winefest will take place from September 14-17 in Palisade, CO – a little over an hour drive southwest from Gateway Canyons.  At the Winefest, travelers can sip on regional wines – as Palisade itself is home to more than 25 wineries – while also exploring the “undiscovered” nature of the area. The festival was recently nominated by USA Today "10Best" as a contender for “Best Wine Festival in the U.S.” 2017.

On Friday, September 15, Gateway Canyons Resort & Spa will host an event leading up to the festival, which will include a guided tasting tour at two wineries, a multi-course lunch with wine and entrance to the Gateway Auto Museum.

This year, the resort will also be a part of the “Festival in the Park,” taking place on Saturday, September 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is Colorado’s largest and oldest wine festival, according to the event website, and will host over 55 Colorado wineries, live music, a grape stomp, live demonstrations as well as seminars. Tickets to this event include entrance into the park, a commemorative tasting glass, wine tote and more. The resort will also continue to offer local wines, produce and artisanal items for guests to enjoy on-property throughout the season.

Throughout the rest of the weekend, the festival will also offer guests guided wine tours, the opportunity to learn about the process of winemaking and the option to rent bicycles for a ride through the fruit and wine byway.

The resort was recently voted No. 3 in “10 Best Resort Hotels in the West by Travel+Leisure, received the 2016 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor, and was recognized as twelfth “Best Resort in the World” by Condé Nast, among other recognitions.
