Big news for travelers to Italy. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has announced a new hotel in the popular tourist destination of Venice, to be housed in a 16th century palace. Situated on the Cannaregio Canal, the Palazzo Nani will be converted into the first InterContinental Hotel in Venice-- managed under a franchise agreement with Cordifin Group and H.n.h Hotels & Resorts Management.

The InterContinental Venice – Palazzo Nani will open in early 2018. After a big restoration, the building’s original details-- like hand-painted frescos and carved wood beams—will be preserved. Modern facilities will include a health club, meeting rooms, and the Club InterContinental Lounge.

Europe continues to be an important market for InterContinental; the brand has also announced new luxury hotels in Sofia, Bulgaria and Ljubljana, Slovenia. In total, there are five new European hotels in the pipeline, to be added to the current portfolio of 32 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in Europe.
