Napa Valley: Wine and Food Festival This March

Flavor!

This March will be an exciting time in Napa Valley. The fifth annual wine and food festival, Flavor! Napa Valley, will be held on March 16 through 20. During the five days, there will be more than 40 events and courses, including chef demonstrations, winemaker workshops and Grand Tastings.

All the chefs participating will either lead top restaurants in the Napa Valley or have graduated from The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the festival’s beneficiary. And let’s not forget that Napa Valley is home to more Michelin stars than any other wine region in the world, so we doubt you'll be disappointed.

Some of the highlights of the festival include:

Celebration of the Judgment of Paris Dinner, March 17 – This dinner will commemorate the 40th anniversary of the 1976 Judgment of Paris. Need a quick history lesson? The 1976 judgment was a blind tasting, which pitted French wines against Californian wines with California coming out victorious.

Terroir to Table Workshops, March 17 to 19 – This event will take place across the valley. Lead by purveyors, guests will experience a garden to table wine pairing at Quixote Winery. Our suggestion is to wear comfortable shoes, guests will hike and sip their way through the vineyards.

Chef Demonstrations, March 18 and 19 – This is the time to pick up some pointers. Culinary leaders will demonstrate their craft with seasonal ingredients in an interactive style. Guests will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look at Michelin-starred chef Christopher Kostow. Guest can also join the Top Chef Winner, Richard Blais for a demonstration at the CIA.

The Grand Tasting, March 19 – This is the ultimate wine tasting, guests will sip wine from 100 wineries and 30 restaurants at the CIA. Tasters will meet the talent behind their favorite labels of wine. And don’t leave early, winemakers will personally pour favorite vintages and reveal what it takes to make each type of wine.
