Baltimore Four Seasons on Track for 2011 Opening
December 30, 2010 By: David Eisen
Charm City looks like it will be home to a new Four Seasons in 2011. Word is that Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley will sign off on a deal to direct $45 million in federal aid toward construction of the $197 million hotel in Baltimore’s Harbor East. Economic impact and job creation were two of the reasons cited for the financing.
The 21-story hotel, overlooking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, has been under construction for more than a year, but financing stalled its completion. The hotel is expected to create $221 million in economic activity, 1,273 construction jobs and 577 permanent hotel jobs.
Reports say that after the hotel is complete, developers will build condominiums above it as a separate phase of the project. The addition would make the building the tallest in Baltimore.
