First Look: The Dorchester Spa
June 16, 2009 By: Dave EisenThe Dorchester in London spent just around $5.5 million to renovate and upgrade its Dorchester Spa, which reopened in May. We have exclusive photos below detailing the complete refurb.
But, before you look, here are some details on what you'll find: The spa was designed by Fox Linton Associates of London, which drew inspiration from the glamor and elegance of the 1930s and enhanced it with a modern edge. This is achieved right at the welcome where spa goers will find the spa's focal point: a chandelier comprising 75,000 South Pacific white pearls.
Along with nine treatment rooms, including two double-spa suites, The Dorchester Spa features a manicure and pedicure suite and a quiet room. Separate changing rooms for men and women feature aromatic steam rooms with mood lighting and sculpture. A hairdressing salon and gentlemen's barber shop sit alongside the spa with a separate entrance.
The Dorchester has also partnered with London-based facialists Vaishaly and Carol Joy London. Additionally, Kerstin Florian spa treatments which combine traditional healing therapies of Europe with natural ingredients are also featured at The Dorchester Spa.
After a treatment, guests can finish off the experience in the 'Spatisserie,' which offers post-treatment snacks and cocktails.
The Dorchester is offering an introductory spa package available from through August 31, 2009. The package for two includes an overnight stay in a Deluxe Room, full English breakfast and one aromatherapy massage per person. The package starts at $680. Visit www.thedorchester.com.
