New York’s Plaza Hotel Closes Palm CourtJanuary 20, 2009 By: Luxury Travel Advisor
Elad Properties has closed Palm Court at the venerable Plaza Hotel in New York City. The dining establishment, which is located in the center of the lobby level and reopened nearly a year ago, has closed due to under performance. Palm Court stopped dinner service this past August. Foodies take note: Joey Allahan, who runs the Oak Room and Oak Bar at The Plaza, has shown interest in adding the Palm Court to his menu and is in talks with Elad to take over Palm Court. Patrons looking to dine at the iconic property are in luck. Although the Palm Court is closes, the Oak Room has taken over serving breakfast and patrons can still dine in the Champagne Bar and Rose Club. According to The Plaza’s website, The Palm Court will re-launch sometime this year.
