Cheval Blanc Randheli Opens November 15 in the MaldivesSeptember 30, 2013 By: Mary Winston Nicklin
Mark your calendars. After much anticipation, Cheval Blanc Randheli—one of the hottest new hotels of the year—will begin welcoming guests to the Noonu Atoll (Maldives) on November 15. As the LVMH Group’s hospitality brand, Cheval Blanc has made a name for itself with its swanky Courchevel property in the French Alps. (The recent acquisition of Hotel Saint-Barth Isle de France in the Caribbean brings the total count to three ultra-luxury hotels in the portfolio, with an eye on Paris- when La Samaritaine, the famous department store on the Seine, will reveal its metamorphosis.)
Needless to say, the Cheval Blanc Randheli is expected to bring new meaning to the word “luxury” on the island atoll beloved by celebrity honeymooners.
Private seaplanes from Malé will transport passengers in just 40 minutes to the exclusive island resort, where dedicated Ambassadors will customize guest experiences like dinner cruises, yoga sessions on a silent stretch of beach, and private scuba diving excursions. French chef Yannick Alléno, who reigned over Le Meurice in Paris with three Michelin stars, will be overseeing the fine dining restaurant, as he does with the Courchevel property. Three other restaurants will offer different types of cuisine. And the spa will offer Guerlain treatments.
Architect Jean-Michel Gathy has fashioned the 45 villas in a contemporary style reflecting the traditional palm cabanas of the islands. Nestled in lush gardens, the villas come with private pools. For more information, visit www.chevalblanc.com/randheli.
