The Phoenicia Malta—a member of Leading Hotels of the World—is currently closed for a top-to-bottom refurbishment, and will reopen later this year. CampbellGray Hotels hopes to restore the historic Art Deco hotel to its original grandeur. All 136 guest rooms and bathrooms are getting a full makeover, along with the hotel’s public spaces. A highly anticipated addition will be the new rooftop Sky Suites. Peter Young Design and Mary Fox Linton have been entrusted with the design.

The project also includes the addition of a new outdoor infinity pool overlooking the harbor, the restoration of the classic façade, the refurbishment of the Grand Ballroom, and new landscaping for the hotel’s extensive 7.5-acre, grounds and terraces. In October 2016, The Phoenicia will unveil a brand new Health Club and Spa with eight treatment rooms, a gym, and an indoor swimming pool.

Located at the entrance to Valetta, The Phoenicia was built in 1939 as Malta’s first luxury hotel.
