Foodies, mark your calendars! The top chefs in D.C. are gearing up for a spectacular culinary extravaganza called “Farmland Feast” on November 1 at the Ritz-Carlton West End. Showcasing the best of the region's bounty from local Chesapeake Bay farmers and producers, the five-course autumnal dinner celebrates the local food movement. Even the wine pairings will be from local Maryland and Virginia vineyards. Zagat Buzz has the scoop on the epicurean delights:

Guests can look forward to passed hors d’oeuvres like Top Chef finalist Carla Hall’s squash and apple dumplings, Pedro Matamoros’ (8407 Kitchen Bar) pork belly croquettes with pickled okra and Richard Brandenburg’s (Cafe Atlantico) pumpkin and duck arepa, all while sipping seasonal cocktails crafted by Todd Thrasher (PX).The seated dinner will include sumptuous dishes like Robert Wiedmaier’s (Marcel's) signature boudin blanc, all accompanied by inventive, seasonal vegetable sides.

There will be silent and live auctions, to boot. The event benefits Freshfarm Market’s work sponsoring local farmer’s markets and in-school garden programs. More than 350 diners are expected. For more information and to buy tickets, check out the Farmland Feast’s website.
