It’s official. The highly anticipated Hotel Missoni Kuwait will be opening its doors on March 1 and we can barely contain our excitement. There’s been lots of buzz about the fashionable hideaway on the shores of the Arabian Gulf, a partnership between the Milan-based fashion house and the Rezidor Hotel Group. For one, the interiors promise to be as glam and eye-catching as the fashion label’s runway collections. Then there’s the all-inclusive aspect that HotelChatter talks up as “pioneering” in the industry, as Missoni Hotels “tack on freebies like complimentary WiFi, in-room movies, a few items of laundry, the (non-alcoholic) contents of the minibar, and, with some rates, even complimentary breakfast.” Spa lovers are drooling over the Six Senses Spa, and foodies like the sound of the Cucina Missoni’s traditional Italian family recipes. Did we mention the Maserati limos?
Now we’ve just received word about another cool service available at the Hotel Missoni Kuwait, which honors local Kuwaiti culture as well as Creative Director Rosita Missoni’s passion for pairing wines with Italian meals. Instead of alcoholic beverages, the Dry Sommelier will pair specialty “mocktails” which sound (almost) as tasty as our favorite Italian wines. These mocktails will run the gamut from exotic fresh juices to different types of water, carbonated just so to go with the guest’s meal. A tasty kind of detox for health-conscious travelers! Guests will also be able to order up bespoke drinks that blend homemade Missoni syrups with a choice of naturally infused ice (rosemary, basil, lemon balm, citrus, rose) that’s served with still/sparkling mineral water.

Giardino Celeste (Heavenly Orchard). Available at Cucina:
Ripe orchard fruits such as apple, pear and quince are delightfully blended with sweet cinnamon and a touch of citrus.
Mora Julep (Blackberry Julep). Available at Luna:
Ripe blackberries are combined with fresh lime and mint before being refreshed with a sparkling spritz.
Te’Allo Zenzero (Ginger Tea). Available at the Pool:
A cool, refreshing expression of green tea, ginger, fresh mint, lime and ripened grapes is served with crushed ice.
Dolce Fico (Sweet Fig Tree). Available at Choco Cafe.
Rich notes of fig are combined with honey and cream and finished with raspberry scented water.
