We've heard that the Casa Monica Hotel in St. Augustine, Florida has just completed the first phase of a $1 million renovation, revamping the luxe design.

Helmed by Debbie Golding, Vice President of Design & Purchasing for the Kessler Collection, the guest rooms now boast all new custom designed interiors with retro-classic rouge carpet, andcustom furnishings with gold accents. Nice Touch: Guests can rest their weary heads again plush velvet tufted headboards.

In addition to the new look of the guestrooms, all the bathrooms have been updated as well, touting high-end toiletries and either a large walk-in shower or a tub/shower combination. The sweeping pool deck also features a new look with modern scalloped awnings and sleek new pavers.

The history and Spanish roots of the hotel and St. Augustine itself are also reflected in the renovation’s designs, further enhancing the exotic, Moroccan ambiance that marks the property.

The Signature Suites, being updated as well, are situated in two tile-topped towers and an impressive central turret. Each of these one- to four-bedroom units is unique.

The Turret Suite includes a half-round living room with gun-port windows overlooking the historic district, while a three-story town house in one of the towers has a huge whirlpool bathroom on its top floor.
