Eye on Morocco: Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay Opens in 2015

Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay

Morocco continues to be a hot destination for travelers, with a host of exciting new hotels in Marrakech, Fes, and even the coastline. A 45-minute drive from Tangier, Tamouda Bay is a new luxury development that offers a prime position on the Mediterranean coast’s white sandy beaches. Ritz-Carlton, Sofitel and Banyan Tree are all building resorts there. In fact, the Banyan Tree will be the first resort in Africa for the Asian brand when it opens in summer 2015.

Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay

Designed with courtyards, gardens, and reflecting pools, the Banyan Tree Tamouda Bay pays homage to the region’s architectural heritage. It’s an exclusive all-villa property, each equipped with its own private pool. Take your pick from the Garden Pool Villa, Waterfront Villa, Two-Bedroom Pool Villa, or Spa Pool Villa, which comes with a Jacuzzi and personal spa room for treatments. In-room perks include pillow and bath menus, and—in some select villas—wine fridges. We also like the sound of the “gadgets for rental.”

Resort facilities include the Banyan Tree Spa with a yoga room and gym, an art gallery, a Kids Club with an array of activities, a library, pools, and conference rooms. Four F&B outlets will offer Moroccan specialties, Mediterranean dishes, and even Thai food at Saffron.
