Oh Canada! Ritz-Carlton, Toronto Opens its Sleek Glass Gates

Canada is ushering in an exciting new luxury this Wednesday with the opening of the 53-storey Ritz-Carlton, Toronto nestled between the urban flair of the financial and performing arts districts.

Featuring 267 guestrooms including 56 Corner suites and The Ritz-Carlton Suite (boasting more than 2,400 square feet) every room features North or South facing views of the city streets or the lovely Lake Ontario.

Nice Details: Floor-to-ceiling windows are flanked by rich African Anigre wood and Portuguese Estremoz marble, offsetting the sleek, contemporary decor in warm caramels and creams. The bathrooms are worth lingering in as well - we've heard that between the heated marble flooring, the dual vanities embedded with 22" HD television screens and oversized tubs, guests are in for one sumptous soak.

Be sure to check out the The Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge on 20th floor with sweeping water views, personal concierge and continuous complimentary cuisine and cocktails throughout the day. Located on the lobby level, TOCA Bar offers a tapas-style menu, raw bar, sustainable caviar tasting, 10 sparkling and over 60 still wines by the glass with the option of sitting in the grand lobby or on the outdoor patio peeking over the city's performing arts district.

At 13,000 square feet, The Ritz-Carlton Spa offers 16 treatment rooms, including 2 Couples Suites, private ladies' and gentleman's wet lounges, steam/sauna areas and dry relaxation dens. Rumor has it the signature treatment - the Cloud 9 Massage - which utilizes locally grown ground flowers and herbs such as Niagara lavender and Quebec sage, is very relaxing.

Eco-conscious guests will also dig TOCA, the signature restaurant by Tom Brodi which serves up homegrown, naturally-raised, sustainable ingredients as well as an open-concept kitchen, walk-through pastry corridor, in-kitchen chef's table, glass-encased cheese cave and extensive wine cellar with a focus on Canadian wines.
