Ritz-Carlton Montreal Celebrates 100 Years

Back in October, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal threw a glamorous gala to celebrate its 100th anniversary and impressive four-year renovation. Two of the prominent guests on the star-studded list-- Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene of Monaco—inaugurated the Royal Suite, renamed the “Grimaldi Suite.” Cirque du Soleil put on a show; chef Daniel Boulud cooked up the feast; and the after-party took over the hotel’s brand spanking new rooftop pool.

When it was inaugurated in 1912, the Ritz-Carlton Montreal was the first hotel in the world to bear the name Ritz-Carlton (combining the two designations). Today it’s a distinguished address in the city’s Golden Square Mile with 129 guest rooms and the Maison Boulud restaurant, decorated by acclaimed design firm Super Potato. The hotel closed its doors in 2008 for a top-to-bottom overhaul, and only just reopened in October.

The 100th anniversary celebrations continue at the "Grande Dame of Sherbrooke Street” until March 27, 2013, as guests can take advantage of a special centennial offer until then. With the Centennial Special, get your 4th night free. Not applicable on the Royal Suite, and black-out dates do apply. For more information, visit ritzmontreal.com
