Prepare for Scottish Treatments at Blythswood Square Hotel

July 26, 2010 By: Jena Tesse Fox

Happy news for guests who need to unwind in Scotland: Glasgow’s first luxury spa offering indigenous Scottish treatments is set to open in September at the new five-star Blythswood Square Hotel.

What makes it unique? The Spa has several exclusive features, including the Blythswood Thermal Experience—a seven-stage journey of alternating temperature experiences to soothe, relax and detoxify the body prior to spa treatments or as a restorative therapy and the UK’s first indigenous Scottish treatments designed in conjunction with luxury organic skincare house, ila.

The Spa also has Scotland’s first Seaweed Bath complete with organic seaweed sourced direct from the Hebrides and a Dark Pool where guests can relax in warm waters. (We're feeling zen just thinking about it!)

There are nine treatment rooms in the spa (including a double suite) where guests will be able to enjoy a full range of face, body and holistic treatments from ila and haute couture specialist, Anne Sémonin. Blythswood Square’s Signature Treatments are centred around a ‘Turus’ (the Gaelic word for journey), which combine the natural benefits of Scotland’s purest ingredients including Organic Milk Thistle extract, seaweed and sea lavender, with healing therapies to provide a complete body and mind experience.

The Spa at Blythswood Square also houses a Rhassoul, a choice of wet and dry relaxation rooms and a spa lounge where guests can snack on tapas created by the hotel’s Executive Chef, Dan Hall.
