Hip in Cape Town
July 1, 2009 By: Ruthanne TerreroWe know the big news in Cape Town, South Africa is all about the spanking new One&Only, which just opened, but we’ve just come upon what we think may be another gem in this exciting city.

Tucked away in the green, green Gardens district of the city is the Kensington Place hotel, a boutique abode that the U.K.’s Tatler called the “Best City Boutique Hotel” in 2007.
The hotel touts its “coolness” factor on its website but it also gives equal play to the fact that it’s got fabulous views of Table Mountain and is close to the National Park. We’re also into the idea of hanging out by the plunge pool by day and then sipping cocktails outside in the evening on a cozy, comfy couch. But that’s just us.
Designed to have the feel of a private home, each of the hotel's nine rooms has its own terrace. So posh.
By the way, we’re quite certain that One&Only Cape Town has its own hip vibe and we’ve just had one of our topnotch writers there to review it. We’re almost ready to reveal what she found, but not yet. You’ll have to wait for the August edition of Luxury Travel Advisor.
