Traders Hotel, Yangon Reemerges as a Shangri-La

Following a renovation that spanned more than two years, the Traders Hotel, Yangon in Myanmar has reemerged as the Sule Shangri-La, Yangon.

The 484-room hotel, which sits on Sule Pagoda Road, offers a variety of dining options. Summer Palace, Shangri-La's signature Chinese restaurant, overlooks the street through large window alcoves. The Gallery Bar was modified to reflect a public drinking house from the past British era. Here guests can dine on comfort bites (think shepherd's pie and steaks) and cold beers.

The hotel's renovation included three other venues - Cafe Sule for international flavors and Asian favorites; the Peacock Lounge and the Gourmet Shop.

For recreation the Health club has 9,148 square feet of fitness equipment, sauna, steam and massage rooms as well as an outdoor pool.

Each room includes flat screen televisions, complimentary Wi-FI, 24-hour room service and more. Top touch: On the top floor of the hotel are three refashioned suites bordered by views of Yangon River or the city. The suites measure between 710 and 2,034 square feet. Bathrooms are fitted with a bathtub and rainforest shower.
