Le Sereno St. Barth has a waterfront spa with a full menu of treatments, including the Eau de Rêve Aqua Massage, in which the client is submerged in shallow waters (that could be the Caribbean or a private pool) to emulate the feeling of being in a womb. Therapists then administer a variety of massage and stretch techniques, all aimed at relieving muscular pain and achy joints.
The resort, known for its A-lister draw of celebrities, models and just plain wealthy folks, has 36 suites (the Grande Suite Plage is the most in demand for its waterfront vistas); then there are those three 7,000-square-foot, four-bedroom villas that have their own private pools and gardens (sweet!). What else is posh about this place? It’s set on 600 feet of beach on St. Barth’s Grand Cul-de-Sac, which means all suites and villas have views of a lagoon that sports a decidedly turquoise hue.

Now, back to that spa. The actual facility is 2,300 square feet in size and there’s a couple’s suite with a “his-and-hers” shower. Products are provided by Sothys, and the top treatment here is the deep-tissue massage by therapist Simao Silva ([email protected]), who is also the spa director. The “Coco Massage” is the spa’s signature treatment and uses all natural coconut for product. There’s also a “C Collagene Hyaluronique” facial treatment that “redefines the face with specific anti-aging care,” and, on the wellness front, a “Stress Release Massage and Lymphatic Drainage Treatment” eliminates toxins. Nice Touch: After spa treatments, green tea and local fruits are on offer, which further assist with the detoxing process.
Kids are welcome at the hotel and the spa and can receive mini-treatments, such as a massage. The resort reports that it’s done couples massages with little girls and their moms.
Foodies take note: London restaurateur, Giuliano Lotto has just partnered with Restaurant Le Sereno at the resort, bringing a cool Italian vibe to the sea fare served there. (Think Lobster Linguine and Gnocchi Le Sereno.) He’s known for La Petite Maison and Il Baretto in the U.K., and this is his first Caribbean endeavor. (Note: Lotto will also be part of the food-and-beverage scene when Il Sereno Lago di Como opens in Italy next summer.) Top tables can be booked via Sophie Nailis ([email protected]).

Gansevoort Turks + Caicos
The Exhale Mind Body Spa at Gansevoort Turks + Caicos is the relaxation facility at one of the most buzzed about new resorts in the Caribbean. Here, the spa focuses on a lifestyle of balance and well-being, which means yoga and barre classes, along with restorative therapies, are offered. Guests can also book fitness programs that run from three to four days (think Core Fusion and Core Energy Flow), using onsite facilities such as a fitness center with exercise machines, free weights and personal trainers. There’s also a pampering theme; the 3,500-square-foot spa has three therapy rooms with private shower gardens, a relaxation garden and a 7,000-square-foot infinity pool. After a day of restoration and relaxation, return to one of the top suites at the resort, such as a three-bedroom penthouse or an oceanfront one-bedroom suite; all have full kitchens and washers and dryers.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis
The Spa and Salon at Four Seasons Resort Nevis is a luxurious facility, but we say, VIP travelers might just want to book an ultimately exclusive experience at the resort’s Hill Estate Villa (No. 1728), which has its own couple’s massage room. The villa, actually a house with a pool, and that nifty massage room, comes with access to the resort and its offerings.

If the villa is booked and you’ve got a fabulous room at the resort (say, a sea-view, one-bedroom Plantation Suite) and use of the resort’s spa, we say you’ll be just fine, too. That’s because the 12,000-square-foot spa has 12 treatment rooms, some set in cottages surrounded by gardens, where lemongrass, basil, rosemary, sage, aloe and other seasonal herbs are planted. We’re thinking après-spa here is pretty cool, too, thanks to the Jacuzzi, plunge pool and views of Nevis Peak (that’s a dormant volcano) that are on hand. Food Alert: Spa cuisine is served in bento boxes, all the more convenient to enjoy fresh fruit smoothies. Be sure to order prior to your treatment so it’s waiting for you on the terrace when you’re done.
The “Four Seasons Nevis Naturally Massage” is madly popular here; that’s a head-to-toe customized treatment using aromatherapy from fresh herbs (yes, from that spa garden). The ritual includes a foot and body massage with gentle stretching and acupressure points. The treatment finishes with a scalp massage; all of which is aimed at relaxing and balancing your energy centers. Contact Bernadette Gonnet ([email protected]), director of the spa, to customize treatments, which use THÉMAÉ Paris products. Guests must be 12 or over to receive a massage, body treatment or facial. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent present, or the parent must sign a waiver allowing the child to proceed with the treatment.
Nice Note: The resort has just released a program called Spa Under the Stars, exclusive to one couple at a time each evening. They get use of the spa’s whirlpool, plunge pool, steam room and sala deck, all in total privacy. With it comes a bottle of champagne and, if they really want to jazz things up, a candle-lit dinner can be added on to the evening, as well as a treatment before the dining begins. We say it’s a nice touch prior to a wedding, or even post nuptials, after all the guests have gone.

Vanessa Paris ([email protected]), guest relations ambassador, can assist with customized stays at the resort, such as personalized arrival arrangements, dinner reservations, and favorite foods, as well as a guide to escort a climb up Nevis Peak. She can also advise on getting drinks at the resort’s neighboring beachside bar and restaurant, Sunshine, known for its Killer Bee rum punch and barbeque. Other off-property offerings include the Hermitage, which hosts a pig-roast on Wednesday evenings and Montpelier, which has a Thursday night Beach BBQ with live entertainment. The Four Seasons also recommends a visit to Golden Rock Plantation Hotel in Charlestown where dining is done in a tropical setting.
The Four Seasons has its own dining, natch: Coral Grill is the “elegant Caribbean” restaurant; Mango is a waterfront venue serving up fine-aged rums; and Ocean Terrace is the al fresco Italian-style restaurant.
