Ski in St Moritz: Kulm Hotel’s Big Renovation

Kulm Hotel, St Moritz

Planning to hit the Swiss Alps for a ski trip this winter? Ski bunnies, take heed. The legendary Kulm Hotel—the first hotel to be built in St. Moritz—unveiled its largest ever room renovation this season. Star designer Pierre-Yves Rochon oversaw the project; his luxurious interior decorating is found in top luxury hotels around the world (including Four Seasons).

The room count in the Neukulm wing was reduced from 33 to 26 oversized rooms (4 doubles, 6 Junior Suites, 3 Deluxe Junior Suites and 3 Suites) with large living areas. (The hotel’s total room count is 173 rooms.) The styling incorporates traditional elements like Swiss stone pine wood ceilings, along with the sleek, contemporary details that Rochon is known for.

The hotel’s ski room was also expanded, now equipped with larger lockers with heating rods, gloves, boots and helmets for each guest. Rental equipment is available at the on-site ski shop (an exclusive partnership with Head). Facilities at the Kulm Hotel are extensive: five restaurants, the Kulm Spa including an indoor pool and gym, 9-hole golf course, tennis courts, ice skating, and the Marmotta Kids’ Club.
